Aside from focusing upon any particular passage... the 'Good News' story was written decades AFTER the wealthy and educated Jews scattered themselves abroad, the temple at Jerusalem was razed to the ground and the (Jewish) nation ceased to exist altogether. The facts on the ground of what actually occurred is a far cry from the passively bucolic setting as is depicted by later-day 'Christians'. During Jesus' life-time, no Jew during the 'Passion' ever knew or saw, or even heard of "Christ". Barabbas, on the other hand, was very well known, -despite the 'Christians' portrayal and omissions. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
